Smoke, a cria & rain – our week on The Farm

January week 4 2016.jpg

What an eventful week on The Farm!  Smoke from the fires on the West Coast – so thick at times, our hearts went out to those affected and those fighting.

A cria – also known as a baby alpaca – was born! She is so darn cute it is squee worthy.  A naming game is going on over on our Facebook page so if you know a fabulous “F” name, head on over and stake a claim to name.

SO MUCH PRODUCE coming out of the gardens and into the food hub – cucumbers, ( even some conjoined twins ), zucchinis, spaghetti squash, pumpkins, beans, regular squash, kale, tomatoes. Welcome to bountiful.

Then of course came the rain.  Thunder, lightening, torrential rain.  It was crazy town.  The food hub flooded, the tool shed flooded, the storeroom flooded, the roof started leaking. It was time to don the raincoats, dig trenches and basically mop ’til we dropped.

The week ended with some VERY GOOD NEWS ( insert hand clapping and whooping ), all will be revealed soon.

Whatever will happen this week?
