PttP was born in the summer of 2009 and we have had quite a few changes in the model of how we do business over the years. By far our most exciting and loved version is the one we are living right now – on The Farm at Burnie High.
This week we are celebrating three years on The Farm.
This is how we found The Farm. More animal sanctuary than produce producing. A blank canvas. First job – contain and re-home all those free ranging beasties.

Of course the community support we get with food donations and corporate volunteering – Lion, Wynyard Seafoods, Golden Grain Bakery, Woolworths, Second Bite, Costas, local farmers, backyard growers, Caterpillar. A special shout out to our Patron, Ben Milbourne who makes sure we appear in every series he produces! This is #communityfood in action.

Our gold star volunteers make The Farm a family. We’ve included our friends from Multicap and the Burnie School of Special Education here. BIG LOVE to all past and present.
You know we are nothing if not determined. Even though we are down to one part time employee, our volunteer family has grown to 25. Hopefully we can get The Farm back to primo production this summer.
We know the massive difference we make in our community and we have shown we are here for the long run. In 2016 we had over 17,000 people access fresh, nutritious food via our service and we grew and gathered over 80,000 kilos of produce.
In the lead up to TEN YEARS of Produce to the People (2019) you will continue to see us grow, gather and give.
