All our volunteers are highly valued, super sweet, capable, reliable, motivated people.
Would you like to join our crew?
Gardeners : Weeders, mulchers, waterers, planters. Do you have green fingers? We are looking for a range of people who can commit to keeping our garden growing. Experience is preferred in as much as you can tell the difference between a weed and a veggie, know how to water plants for optimum results. All of this work is quite physical.
Food hub helpers : One of the many reasons people come to our food hub is that we support dignity around food access. Our food hub is set up like a greengrocer and people can help themselves to what they need. We ask no questions – except maybe a recipe share from time to time.
Do you have customer service skills/retail experience or would like to develop these skills? Have the ability to lift sometimes heavy crates of produce? A good work ethic? A smile is your default facial expression and discretion is your second name? Knowledge of produce and what you can do with different ingredients?
Food hub helpers are needed on Tuesday’s and gardeners on Tuesday &/or Thursday’s between 9-2.
Produce gatherers : Reliable peeps with reliable transport required to do
- our morning pick up from Woolies in Upper Burnie + delivery to The Farm
- our Tuesday afternoon pick up from a local bakery + delivery the following morning to The Farm
- strawberry pick up from East Devonport + delivery to The Farm
We are looking for genuine souls, people who know how to laugh AND get the job done!
As we are based on school grounds all volunteers must have a working with vulnerable people card. Click on this link for further information.
If you are interested in any of these roles the first step is to fill in the form below or come along to one of our VOLUNTEER INDUCTION HOURS held on the second Tuesday of each month at 11.30am.
