Volunteers – we need you!

we need you

Seasons come and seasons go – so do volunteers! We are on a mission to find more people  to join Tasmania’s Community Group of the Year on The Farm @ Produce to the People, growing, gathering and giving.

We are not for just anyone though.  You will have to have a valid Working with Vulnerable People Card . You will have to have a kind disposition with a smile as default and be someone who, whilst your experience and opinion will be heard, must be able to follow directions. We are a centrelink approved organisation so if you have to do a certain number of hours we can sign your paperwork!

We have opportunities for people available to do the afternoon shift in the food hub (12-3pm), delivery drivers – dropping off produce boxes to elders in our community, produce gatherers – bread and other assorted goodies and gardeners – for our new edible flower garden, micro greens and veggie patches.

Our next volunteer orientation hour is on Tuesday 14th August at 11:30am but if you can’t wait until then pop into The Farm on any Tuesday or Thursday between midday and 2pm and ask for Michelle.

Volunteer Stories

We are privileged to share our days with Michelle Williamson. Here are some of her thoughts about spending time at Produce to the People.

We can not love her more 🙏🏻

1366 visits for fresh produce.  A new Patron – Brendon Gale – CEO of Richmond FC. New chicks in the hen house and ducks in the paddock.  Another new micro green customer! A very generous donation. Some volunteers departed on Australian road tripping adventures or new jobs, some old volunteers returned. Leafy greens in abundance in our beds.  Garlic planted.  Volunteer GOLD. Happy days.
