No one likes to admit it, but we are getting a little desperate.
Desperate for volunteers to work in our gardens.
This Tuesday we are holding our monthly volunteer orientation hour at 11 am and invite individuals, service organisations, schools and businesses to come along to see how you might be able to help us feed your community.
Join Burnie High School students, Caterpillar, Multicap and a host of individuals who already help out at various times. You might be able to assist once or twice a week, maybe once a month??
Whilst you are here, we have been throwing around some other ideas….Can you let us know if any of these options interest you?
We are on the look out for more lovely volunteers because our farm and food hub won’t survive unless we get some more bodies on board, stat!
We are looking for FOOD HUB HELPERS on Thursday’s. You will rock up at around 9:30 and help unload the van of bread and produce, help sort it, make the food hub look bountiful, then assist with filling shelves and generally being a ray of light in the hub. A little bit of sweeping and bob’s your uncle!
WEEDERS, MULCHERS + WATERERS also needed on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.
You will need a working with vulnerable people check to volunteer with us as we are on school grounds.
In case you missed it (AND US!) here is a link to Episode 1 of Eat Australia. A HUGE shout out must go to Andy Allen and Ben Milbourne for helping to showcase the amazingness of Tasmania. Those of us lucky enough to live here wake up to the beauty everyday #winning
After watching, f you are inspired to help Produce to the People continue our good works you can DONATE or VOLUNTEER.
